Fabric Bow Tutorial

Cut a piece of fabric 2.5 x 12 inches (or twice as wide as you want your bow to be)

Fold one short edge over and sew across.

Fold the piece in half lengthwise, and crease to mark the middle.

Lay the piece right side up and bring first the hemmed edge to the middle. Lining your stitches up with the crease you made.

Now repeat for the unhemmed edge, letting them overlap just a bit. and pin in place.

Sew down the right hand side.

Flip over, and sew down the left side.

Turn inside out, one side at a time, being sure to push out each corner.

You may want to stitch down the center now, following the stitching on the hem. I didn't, but it would make it easier to slide together later, especially if you're putting it on a headband. Set this piece aside for now

Cut a 2.5 x 3 inch piece from the same fabric.

Fold in half lengthwise, and sew along the edge.

Turn this piece inside out, and adjust it so the seam is in the middle.

Fold in half, with the seam on the outside, and sew along the edge.

Turn inside out, so you have a little tube.

Take the bigger piece, and pinch it together so it folds like an acordian.

Now slide it through your little tube.

& now you have a fabric bow!

Now slide it onto a fabric headband, attach it to a bobby pin, hair clip, or sew it onto a piece of clothing!
